8GB Memory Upgrade DDR3-1333 SODIMM (DMS Certified)
|
Why DMS Certified: DDR3- Also known as DOUBLE DATA RATE 3 SYNCHRONOUS DRAM. DDR3 is faster than DDR2 memory and the two are not compatible. The benefit of DDR3 memory is the ability to transfer at twice the data rate of DDR2 memory, thus enabling higher bus rates and higher peak rates than earlier memory technologies. In addition, the DDR3 standard allows for chip capacities up to 8 gigabits, effectively enabling a maximum memory module size of 16 gigabytes (16GB). DDR3 memory also provides a reduction in power consumption of 30% compared to DDR2 memory. Common DDR3 memory types are PC3-6400, PC3-8500, PC3-10600 and PC3-12800. If you are unsure if this is the correct memory upgrade for your device please use one of our two memory finders to confirm. Apple Memory Finder
