Tech Note:
MacBook Pro 15" (5,1; 5,2; 5,3; 5,4; 5,5)  and MacBook Aluminum (5,1) 
6G SSDs will work in a MacBook Pro and Aluminum Macbook but it will only run at SATA I (1.5Gb/s) speed as opposed to the SATA II (3.0Gb/s) speed.  The SATA III (6Gb/s) drive does clock down but not to the correct speed.  We recommend using the DMS Celerity 3G drives.

Internal flash array:
This feature provides an extra layer of error correction capability to an already robust ECC scheme.  The controller incorporates 3 layers of error correction:  LDPC hard decode, LDPC soft decode, and RAID-like parity checking within the internal flash array.  With this tiered correction scheme, drives endurance is tripled compared to previous ECC techniques while minimally impacting overprovisioning levels.
 
Built-in LDPC:
LDPC ECC is the strongest error correction technology incorporated in SSDs today.  Hard decode and soft decode correction provide allow for triple level cell (TLC) flash to be used reliably in SSD applications.
 
StaticDataRefresh:
The drive incorporates a self-scanning feature to monitor charge levels and error rates of static data blocks and refresh the flash cells’ values to ensure the data is accurate when needed.
 
Early weak block:
The drive will monitor blocks and, if the level of error correction is approaching the correction limit, will proactively move the data to a healthier block which requires less ECC.  This helps ensure data integrity.
 
Global wear-leveling:
Intelligent wear leveling algorithms constantly monitor the number of program/erase cycles on each flash cell.  When new data is written, it is written to cells with the lowest number of cycles first, leveling the wear on each block.  This helps to extend drive lifetime.
