Netbooks are the ideal companion for those who need to take their work with them as they are light, usually weighing between two and three pounds, and compact so are able to covertly slip into bags and briefcases.
Despite netbooks being a popular choice for the corporate world, desktops are generally the go-to choice for static employees who may have a lot of files. Desktops generally boast larger memories and faster processes, are easy to upgrade and come complete with a large screen and full size keyboard so are ideal if there will be a lot of daily use. Netbooks on the other hand only boast a small amount of RAM and a limited amount of internal storage. The batteries also only last for short amounts of time unless upgraded so are not ideal for constant use.
Justin, adds, “On the whole, desktops are the better option as buyers will generally get more for their money. However if portability is high on a buyer’s list, and it is just needed for general documents, then a netbook is a good option. However if they are to invest in one of these and have it as their main machine, it’s worth upgrading battery and investing in an external hard drive to ensure all files and folders can be stored with ease.”
